This was not a fixed sequence left to play. It was a live visual performance on an architectural scale, with every choice respecting the facade, the mapped content, the music on stage and the fixed timing of a public countdown.
01 / The event
A civic-scale surface with a fixed deadline
Grand Park's official N.Y.E.L.A. program used Los Angeles City Hall as the stage for the countdown to 2026. The projection experience, titled “The Power of One,” was created by A3 Visual.
Unlike a conventional screen, the image had to land across windows, columns and architectural edges. At the same time, the visuals needed to respond to live music throughout the program before arriving precisely at the public countdown.

Perform the projection live
Third Space was hired as the VJ team responsible for the entire show-night visual execution. Using mainly Resolume, with Chataigne and Bitfocus Companion in the control workflow, we operated A3 Visual's mapped assets in real time and matched the visual performance to the live music on stage.
We also brought our own dedicated hardware rack for the execution, giving the show a complete Third Space playback and control system on site rather than relying only on venue equipment.
The role drew on three parts of our background at once: live video production kept the playback and signal dependable, motion-graphics experience helped us interpret the visual material and transitions, and our experience as DJs and musicians let us phrase visual changes with the music rather than simply trigger files on a clock.
A3 Visual created the projection assets and concept; Third Space did not create the overall N.Y.E.L.A. event. Our responsibility was the full live VJ performance and technical execution on the night.
03 / What it shows
Technical execution can also be a musical performance
Projection mapping combines graphic design, motion, spatial planning and live systems. In a music-led event, the operator also has to understand pacing, phrasing, contrast and when the visual should follow—or leave space for—the stage.
The project demonstrates Third Space's ability to work inside a specialist production team, translate finished visual assets into a responsive Resolume performance and bring an integrated software-and-hardware system to a civic-scale live moment with no second take.
